The Hickory Music Factory (HMF) hosts dozens of events and programs in the Catawba community and serves over 20,000 people each year. The majority of these programs are free and open to the public and reach out to all ages, from children to seniors.

Accepting Scholarship and Work Study Applications @ Hickory Music Factory

The Hickory Music Factory (HMF) is now accepting scholarship and work study applications for music lessons. HMF offers a limited number of scholarships and work study programs to students ages 5-18 years of age. These are awarded on a quarterly basis. Applications need to be submitted on the dates listed above to be eligible for this scholarship/work study cycle. Financial need is assessed through written applications by the HMF board of directors. Funding for the scholarships are made possible through the Mark Weaver Scholarship Fund that helps provide lessons and programs to youth in the community who may not have the means to do so. Community Music Lessons @ Hickory Music Factory

The Hickory Music Factory in partnership with the Hickory Parks and Recreation Department, will be offering free music lessons to Hickory City residents. Anyone ages 5 and up are welcome to sign up for a private 30 minute lesson. Please call for a list of instruments being taught. No skill is needed to participate.

If you would like to sign up for a lesson, PLEASE CALL Angela Smith 828-324-6990. There will be a $5 charge for non Hickory City residents.

1940s Christmas Radio Hour (matinee show) @ SALT Block, Drendel Auditorium

The Hickory Music Factory (HMF) hosts an old fashioned 1940s Christmas Radio Hour at SALT Block – Drendel Auditorium (243 Third Avenue NE Hickory, 28601) Saturday December 8, 2018. This fifth annual 1940s Christmas Radio Hour is HMF’s primary fundraiser of the year. The live performance features The Hickory Jazz Orchestra, guest artists and revives the spirit of the mid 1940s when families gathered ’round the wireless for news and entertainment. In our digital age, the chance to experience a live radio show is rare, unique and inventive. It’s a perfect way to recapture a bygone era around the holidays; as well as help fund the exceptional community programs of The Hickory Music Factory.

The show is an interactive experience and audience members are encourage to dress in period attire for added fun. In a world of instant gratification and speed, the 1940s Christmas Radio Hour encourages people to slow down, enjoy the season and make a special evening out of the event. The VIP package is especially enticing as a fine way to enjoy the night. A VIP ticket includes preferred seating, a special pre-show VIP area with drinks and light Hors d’oeuvres. General admission tickets for the 2pm matinee show are $20 and for the 7pm evening show are $15 18yr and under (must be bought at the door), $25 general admission and $40 limited VIP seating. Group rates are also available for each show. HMF Tribute Concert @ SALT Block - Drendel Auditorium

The Hickory Music Factory host their annual “Tribute Concert” featuring the Hickory Jazz Orchestra. HMF pays tribute to those people who have helped to promote and foster music within our community. This years “Tribute Concert” will pay tribute to: Rick Dilling, Pop Ferguson, and Jim Jerome Williams. Tickets go on sale December 1st.

HMF invests in our students with this opportunity and many types of musical experiences, giving them the tools they need to grow and build a strong musical foundation.
