Private lessons, classes, and camps for ages 5 and up.
Our Approach
The organization isn’t classically based in its approach to musical education. Rather, the Hickory Music Factory takes a well-rounded, interdisciplinary approach and strives to address each child on an individual basis. Unfortunately, many music programs have rigid guidelines that don’t allow for all children to succeed. Therefore, we seek to address the system and nature of teaching music that inhibits growth and success. We don’t offer a strict curriculum but a malleable model meant to encourage all. Catering to each student’s unique passion, we offer individual lessons in several genres. Every person is different and learns differently and, in turn, music serves a different purpose in every life. We believe in celebrating students and their differences and helping them find their individuality in music.

Individual Lessons: Lessons are $25/30 MIN, $37.50/45 MIN, and $50/60 MIN. To maintain your time slot, there is a $10 “missed lesson fee” for each scheduled absence. All lessons are to be paid through the HMF Lesson portal, Cash or Check by the last day of the month prior to the month you are paying for. Once paid, you will communicate directly with your instructor (NOT THE HMF OFFICE) about lessons, scheduled absences, and potential rescheduling. Please put checks in an envelope and drop into the mailbox at the front door. A credit card transaction fee will be applied when paying through the online portal.
Late Payment Fee: Lesson payments are due before the 1st of each month you are paying for. Failure to pay your lesson fee on time may result in a $15 late fee to be paid directly to your instructor. This policy will protect HMF instructors in the collection of these fees as necessary.
Attendance: Please plan to attend all lessons and arrive on time with all required materials (books, instruments etc).
Cancellation/Rescheduling: Cancellations made within a 24 HOUR notice will be considered forfeited. Cancellations made prior to 24 hours will be eligible for a “make-up lesson” based on your instructor’s schedule and availability. Make-up lessons will be considered, but not guaranteed. You have the option of doing your lesson online rather than canceling due to transportation issues, sickness, etc. IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, we ask that you communicate with the instructor as soon as possible.
Media Notice: HMF may record, photograph, or video a student during lessons, recitals, and other public performances to be used on the HMF website and other social media platforms. There is an OPT-OUT clause on your student registration form if you do NOT wish to participate in this media.
