Group classes are an exciting way to learn violin and they can be an early introduction to ensemble music. The course starts with a general introduction of the instrument’s parts, how to take care of it, identify the strings by their name and position on the staff, followed by bow and fingers technique; it then moves on how to play simple songs and at the same time instilling a solid music theory foundation. Other topics will be violin history, a short excursus on fiddle music/technique and different violin repertoires and styles.
