The Hickory Music Factory Jazz Combo under the direction of Rick Hefner, is a semester-long ensemble. The ensemble focuses on the study of the jazz art form, how to improvise, music theory, and playing in a group. The ensemble is for intermediate to advanced students. Students will be expected to be able to sight read music and have a basic understanding of chord theory.

Cost for the 10 week semester is $100 for HMF students and $125 for non-students. We never want money to be the reason why someone can’t participate in our programs. If you can’t afford the fee, we ask that you “Pay What You Can”. No questions asked. To sign up, please fill out the application.
