HICKORY MUSIC FACTORY - LESSON POLICIES STARTING JANUARY 2025
LESSON SERVICES: The Student Enrollment Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions of your purchase of instructional services from HICKORY MUSIC FACTORY. Lessons take place in an approx. 30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute time frame.
REGISTRATION FEE: There is a $45 annual, non-refundable registration fee per student. Additional sibling registration is $25. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED HMF MEMBERS to be eligible for lessons. Registration must be completed PRIOR to your first lesson. Registration helps pay for payment processing, administrative assistant and janitorial services:

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS: Lessons are $25/30 MIN, $38/45 MIN, and $50/60 MIN. To maintain your time slot, there is a $10 “missed lesson” fee for each SCHEDULED ABSENCE. All lessons are to be paid through the HMF LESSON PORTAL by the LAST DAY OF THE MONTH PRIOR TO THE MONTH YOU ARE PAYING FOR. Once paid, you will communicate directly with your instructor (NOT THE HMF OFFICE) about lessons, scheduled absences, and potential rescheduling.
REGULAR ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is highly recommended for the success of lessons. You must attend at least 2 lessons per month. Please plan to attend all lessons and arrive on time with all required materials (books, instruments etc).
CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY: Cancellations made within a 24 HOUR notice will be considered forfeited. Cancellations made prior to 24 hours will be eligible for a “make-up lesson” based on your instructor’s schedule and availability. Make-up lessons will be considered, but not guaranteed. You have the option of doing your lesson online rather than canceling due to transportation issues, sickness, etc. IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, we ask that you communicate with the instructor as soon as possible.
MEDIA NOTICE: HMF may record, photograph, or video a student during lessons, recitals, and other public performances to be used on the HMF website and other social media platforms. There is an OPT-OUT clause on your contract if you do NOT wish to participate in this media.
